Jordy Asher (a.k.a. BOOTS), was signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation, in early 2013. Soon after he wrote four songs and produced 85% of Beyonce’s latest—amazing—album, Beyonce.
That’s pretty much all we know about him besides what he told Pitchfork in a not-so-revealing January Interview.
BOOTS came out of nowhere and produced one of the year’s best albums with a famously fierce lady star. Supposedly he was living out of a van in Miami and his demo—recorded on his iPhone!—was magically discovered by Beyonce. How exactly? “That's for Beyoncé and me to know,” he says.
